Outstation Urbania Hire from Chennai

Round trips and multi-day travel out of Chennai, charged on a minimum of 300 km per day with every allowance itemised.

Outstation travel from Chennai divides into three quite different kinds of trip, and they behave differently for a long vehicle. Northbound to Tirupati and into Andhra is fast, mostly four-lane, and the constraint is the ghat section at the end. Southbound along the coast towards Pondicherry, Chidambaram and Velankanni is easy driving on the ECR and the East Coast highway, with the caveat that the ECR is a single carriageway for long stretches and overtaking a slow lorry in a seventeen seater is a patient business. Westbound into the hills — Yelagiri, Yercaud, Kodaikanal — means a genuine climb, and that is where departure time and vehicle choice actually matter.

The pricing point most people want explained is the daily minimum. Outstation trips are charged on a minimum of 300 kilometres per day whether or not you run them. That is not a penalty; it is how a vehicle and chauffeur committed to you for a day get paid when the day only involves a 90-kilometre hop. It has a practical consequence worth knowing: a one-night trip to Pondicherry and back covers roughly 320 kilometres against a 600-kilometre two-day minimum, so the effective rate per kilometre travelled is high. For short trips like that, ask us about a one-way drop in each direction instead — sometimes it is cheaper, sometimes it is not, and we would rather run the numbers with you than have you discover it afterwards.

Driver batta is a separate line at a thousand rupees per day, and a late-night batta of the same amount applies where the vehicle runs between ten at night and six in the morning. We list these separately rather than folding them into the per-kilometre rate, because a customer comparing two quotes needs to know whether the cheaper rate has the allowance hidden inside it. Tolls, parking, interstate permits and state entry taxes are charged at actuals against receipts the chauffeur keeps.

On multi-day trips we plan around driver hours as well as distance. A chauffeur who has driven from Chennai to Kodaikanal on day one should not be starting a full sightseeing day at six the next morning, and if your itinerary requires that we will tell you rather than agree and then run tired. It is the least glamorous part of a quote and the part most likely to affect whether the trip goes well.
