Mysore Airport Transfer by Urbania
Mysuru has no meaningful commercial air service, so an airport transfer here means the 190 km run to Bengaluru.
It is worth being direct about this, because it is the question we are asked most often and the answer disappoints people: Mysuru's own airport handles very little scheduled traffic, and for practical purposes a group flying anywhere is flying from Bengaluru. That makes an airport transfer from Mysuru a 190-kilometre intercity run rather than a short hop, and it should be planned, priced and timed as one.
The route is mostly expressway and the first 150 kilometres are fast and predictable. The variable is the approach to Kempegowda International, which sits north of Bengaluru and requires either crossing the city or looping around it. That final stretch can take forty minutes or well over two hours depending on the time of day, and it is entirely outside our control. For a morning departure we will typically propose leaving Mysuru at an hour that sounds unreasonable, because the alternative is a group watching the check-in counter close.
For arrivals we track the flight rather than the schedule, and the free waiting time runs from the actual landing rather than the printed one. This matters on the Bengaluru run more than most, because a group landing late still has three hours of driving ahead and everyone would rather that started calmly. The chauffeur waits in the car park and meets you rather than circling the kerb; the parking charge is billed at actuals with the receipt.
Luggage rather than headcount usually decides the vehicle for this run. A group returning from a holiday in Coorg or Ooty before flying home is carrying more than it left with, and a thirteen seater at full occupancy with twelve check-in bags is at its limit. Give us the bag count and the flight time and we will tell you which seater to take and when we think you should leave — the second of those is usually the more valuable answer.
Where a group is arriving on several flights within a couple of hours of one another, one vehicle waiting is usually better value than separate transfers, and far better for whoever landed first. Send us all the flight numbers rather than a single time and we will work out whether one run covers it. Beyond a gap of about two hours it stops making sense and we will tell you so rather than leave passengers sitting in a car park for the sake of a tidier invoice.
