Mysuru is the one city where we will regularly tell a group they are buying more than they need. The palace, Chamundi Hills, the zoo, St Philomena's and the Brindavan gardens together are a comfortable day well inside eighty kilometres, and the city moves freely enough that eight hours genuinely covers it. Groups arriving from Bengaluru or Chennai assume they will need the larger package because they would at home, and here they usually do not.

The 12-hour package earns its place on two kinds of day. One is Dasara, when processional routes close, the city fills and a journey that takes twenty minutes in an ordinary week can take an hour. The other is a day that stretches out towards Srirangapatna, Somnathpur or the Chamundi road at leisure, which pushes both the hours and the distance past the smaller tier.

It is also worth knowing when a local package is the wrong product entirely. A day trip to Bandipur, Nagarahole or Coorg is outstation work charged on the daily minimum, not a local package, and the two price very differently. We will quote whichever is genuinely cheaper for the day you describe rather than the one that bills more.

Pickups here are straightforward by the standards of our other hubs. Mysuru's roads are wide, traffic is light, and a 17 seater reaches most addresses without the negotiation a comparable pickup in Chennai or Bengaluru requires. Dasara week is the exception, when central parking becomes genuinely difficult and we agree standing points in advance.

On seater choice, Mysuru is forgiving. The roads are wide enough that a 17 seater presents no difficulty, and the parking at the palace, the zoo and Chamundi Hills can take one outside Dasara week. Choose on headcount and on how much you will be carrying rather than on the road, which is not the case in any of our other cities.

A last note on timing. Mysuru's attractions keep conventional hours and the palace illumination on Sunday evenings and public holidays is the one thing that pushes a day past the eight-hour tier. If that is on your list, tell us when booking and we will size the package for it rather than have you pay extra hours at the end of the evening.
